TOGETHER, WE STAND: GREEN DOG'S RESPONSE TO THE WILDFIRES
In these challenging times, it's inspiring to see our community unite. We are deeply grateful to the first responders protecting lives and property and to the volunteers donating their time and resources to those in need. At Green Dog Dental & Veterinary Center, we are committed to supporting our community.
Here's how we've stepped up to help:
SEARCH & RESCUE EFFORTS
Our Founder and Chief of Staff, Dr. Garcia, a former firefighter and emergency medical technician, worked with local government to gain access to all fire-affected areas. He led pet search-and-rescue operations in the Palisades, Topanga, and Malibu burn zones, working tirelessly to reunite animals with their families.
CAT SANCTUARIES AT OUR SHERMAN OAKS & VENICE LOCATION
Recognizing the particular vulnerability of cats during disasters, we're creating safe spaces in our clinics to temporarily house displaced cats, offering a calm environment to reduce stress and ensure their well-being.
What you can expect to receive:
- A complimentary veterinary exam during their intake
- Additional free & subsidized veterinary care
- Shelter, food, water & lots of love and attention from our dedicated staff
- Cats will be housed in a dedicated, cat-only section of our clinic
Please call same-day to schedule drop off. Need urgent assistance? If you have a displaced cat or need free veterinary care for pets injured or displaced by the wildfires, call 310-606-2407 and dial 9.
FREE VETERINARY CARE
We're providing free and subsidized veterinary care to all affected pets of wildfire victims and firefighting personnel, including treatment for burns, respiratory issues, and other injuries.
DONATIONS
All Green Dog locations previously served as donation drop-off points for wildfire victims, with collected items delivered to the American Red Cross and local humane societies. At this time, we are no longer accepting physical donations, but we deeply appreciate your past support.
However, we continue to offer our cat sanctuaries and provide free veterinary care for those displaced by the wildfires. If you’d like to support this effort, please consider donating here.
We're dedicated to supporting both people and animals in need. If you need assistance or want to contribute, please contact us at 310-606-2407, EXT9.
