COVID-19 AND HOW TO STAY SAFE WITH YOUR PET
The best thing you can do to help keep you and your pets safe? Treat them just as you would any human member of your household. That means:
- Don’t allow your pet to interact with people outside the immediate household, and don’t let anyone outside of your immediate household pet them.
- If you have a dog, change your walking routine (if necessary) in order to avoid contact with other people. If you usually see a lot of folks out during your walk, consider changing your route to a less crowded area. If you do come across other people, stay at least 6 feet away.
- Keep them cleaner than usual. Extra baths, wiping their feet when they come in from their walk, and taking care not to pet them until you have washed your hands.
- Make sure to have adequate food on hand and any medication they may need. Shipping times all across the United States have drastically slowed, so you should be cognizant of ordering a little earlier than usual and leaving time for deliveries. Don’t wait until the last minute!
